Herb Classes

As part of The St. Louis Herb Society's ongoing mission to educate and increase knowledge about the use, propagation, and cultivation of herbs, we offer courses at the Missouri Botanical Garden in the spring and fall. Each seasonal program features timely advice and demonstrations appropriate to the season. Generally included are segments on decorative uses of herbs, practical ways to use herbs, culinary demonstrations (and samples), take home recipes, and "sage garden advice" from the members of the St. Louis Herb Society. Reservations are required and must be made and paid through the Missouri Botanical Garden.  Click here for link.

Harvesting, Preserving and Cooking with Herbs class will be presented Tuesday May 9, 2017  from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Center for Home Gardening Classroom at the Missouri Botanical Garden. Spring is exactly the right time to plan for what to do with a bountiful crop of herbs this year. Join Bruce Chalker and his colleagues in The St. Louis Herb Society and learn how to harvest and preserve your herbs for culinary use. Herbal cookery will be introduced with the taste of bread and breakfast. Herbal treats will be served at the conclusion of this class. Designed for adults only. Cost is $37 for MBG members and $43 for nonmembers. Registration and payment through MBG. Click here for link.
