As part of The St. Louis Herb Society's ongoing mission to educate and increase knowledge about the use, propagation, and cultivation of herbs, we offer courses at the Missouri Botanical Garden in the spring and fall. Each seasonal program features timely advice and demonstrations appropriate to the season. Generally included are segments on decorative uses of herbs, practical ways to use herbs, culinary demonstrations (and samples), take home recipes, and "sage garden advice" from the members of the St. Louis Herb Society. Reservations are required and must be made and paid through the Missouri Botanical Garden. Two classes will be presented in Spring 2018 as follows:
The Joy of Herbs: The Newest Ideas for Growing, Cooking and Sharing to be held Monday, Aril 9, 2018 from 9:30 until noon at the Center for Home Gardening Classroom at MBG. You will get practical tips for choosing, growing, and sharing herbs. Delight in the aromas and tastes of live cooking demonstrations. You will not leave hungry! Knowing, Growing, and Cooking with English Herbs to be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Center for Home Gardening Classroom at MBG. Learn which English herbs will survive in our region, which are the most flavorful, and which are the easiest to grow. Herbal cookery will feature both familiar and lesser-known herbs.
