Herb and Heirloom Tuesdays

Each Tuesday morning from June 5, 2018 through August 28, 2018, between 10:00 a.m. and noon members of The St. Louis Herb Society can be found near the entrance to  The St. Louis Herb Society Garden (located in the Victorian District of the Missouri Botanical Garden directly behind Tower Grove House), weather permitting.  The first 200 visitors each week may pot an herb to take home and  visitors will receive a profile sheet with care tips and ways to use the plant.  The weekly schedule is as follows but may vary due to plant availability:

  • June 5        Fernleaf Dill, Anethum graveolens
  • June 12      Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, Eucalyptus cinerea
  • June 19      Anise Hyssop, Agastache foeniculum
  • June 26     Spearmint, Mentha spicata
  • July 3         Ornamental Pepper, Capsicum annuum
  • July 10       Greek Oregano, Origanum vulgare subsp. hirtum
  • July 17        Italian Parsley, Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum
  • July 24       Garden Sage or Common Sage, Salvia officinalis
  • July 31        English Thyme or Garden Thyme, Thymus vulgaris
  • August 7     Yellow Yarrow or Fern-leaf Yarrow, Achillea filipendulina
  • August 14   Sweet Basil, Ocimum basilicum
  • August 21   Winter Savory, Satureja montana
  • August 28  Grolau Chives, Allium schoenoprasum
